Homework Activities
What you and your child can expect.

Family projects are assigned throughout the school year. These projects are meant to be a family activity to complete with your child. These are considered homework and are not meant to be optional. Most projects have a seasonal theme.

Small books are sent home each week of our reading series. These books are meant to be read with your child, and for your child to read to you as they are able. Children keep these books at home and they are meant to be read over and over to practice fluency.

Reviewing letters, sounds, sight words, and numbers are an ongoing expectation. You will be kept informed of new learning material as it is covered.

We encourage all parents to read to their child on a nightly basis. Participation in the 1000 Books Program is an excellent resource to borrow books for your child. Please feel free to talk about the success of this program with your child’s teacher.

Teachers may provide additional activities to ensure each child’s success in their learning and may ask for your support.
