Your First Grader can expect approximately 20 minutes of homework each evening. This homework will consist of a reading log, to be signed by an adult each night, a word card envelope, sight words to be practiced regularly, and a math fact envelope, to build speed and accuracy in basic addition and subtraction facts. Occasionally the first grade teachers may send home a homework pack that targets a specific skill. These assignments are usually due with at least a week to complete.
